So, what did i do on my romantic and mushy gushy valentine’s day weekend?
Well, Saturday we played Dante’s Inferno, I went and danced at a club with a friend on saturday night, sunday we played through Dante’s Inferno some more. Then had a nice dinner at our mexican place complete with mariachi’s (playing nuestro juramento thankyouverymuch). And monday we finished Dante’s Inferno. (which btw wasn’t that great…and as a raised catholic, VERY wierd to have the power to absolve people)
I asked Gavin as we were leaving for the restaurant, cause it’s been on my mind, if it’s still ok to be a tomboy at 30. To which he said “yeah that’s why i’m with you.” Apparently he genuinely likes that i don’t wear makeup, never do my hair and that my idea of perfume is body lotion.
Though I feel totally validated and can stop stressing not putting lipstick on like ‘normal’ girls, it still makes me wonder (’cause i’ve been thinking a bit too much recently). It’s not my upbringing, I mean, my sister isn’t like me. She wears stylish clothes, goes shopping every few months maybe (on purpose!), spends more than $10 on a haircut and wouldn’t be caught dead in my ratty combat boots. I wonder why we turned out so different.
Anyhow, hope you had wonderful valentines day! And i hope you all have wonderful partners that never make you feel ‘odd’ for getting a kick out of slicing a demon in half on valentines day.
He loves you for who you are. The haircut/makeup/whatever is just decoration. He loves the tree. Relax.
funny that after 4+ years that still stuns me hehehehe
hope you had a fun valentines day! when can we meet up chico?
